In August 2024, an educator from Craft Depo attended an intensive course in Silkscreen Printing in Jūrmala, Latvia. The training took place at SIA Cemme within the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, Adult Education sector.

Project number: 2023-1-EE01-KA121-ADU-000140168

Mobility type: Individual staff mobility – Courses and Training.

Silkscreen printing is a versatile printing technique that allows designs to be transferred onto paper, fabric, wood, glass and other surfaces. It offers a wide range of creative possibilities, from unique handmade products and decorative artwork to small-scale printing projects.

During the course, our educator learned the complete silkscreen printing process, from developing designs and preparing printing screens to applying inks and creating multicoloured prints. Practical sessions included experimenting with different materials, layering colours, creating gradients and using specialty inks.

The training concluded with the creation of an original printed artwork using the newly acquired skills.

We are now introducing silkscreen printing at Craft Depo! The knowledge and practical experience gained during the training will help us develop new workshops and offer adult learners in Narva the opportunity to explore this creative printing technique.

The mobility was also organised as a green, environmentally friendly journey, reflecting the Erasmus+ programme's commitment to sustainable travel and environmental responsibility.

The training was financially supported by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme.
